If it makes you feel happy, you have a balanced life and do all of the things you need to do, then it should not be a problem.
For some people who struggle to socialise in real life, it can be a great relief to be able to chat freely in a game.

If gaming is preventing you from doing other things, you are losing sleep, eating badly, not exercising, then there probably are some issues you should be concerned about.

And you are saying that if you could you would play wow 24/7 for 4 weeks. That tells me that you are addicted. (No offense)
I would alt+f4 if my friends called me over while im raiding Ulduar.

Yes, the WoW world isn't real, but the people who play it are. I don't see any difference in between sitting in Starbucks with a friend and talking, or being on Vent and talking while playing a game (besides seeing someone physically). I have been playing WoW for 3 years and have a tight group of friends who I know will be there waiting for me when I get home. If I'm having a bad day, most of them can tell right off, faster then my fiance and they are always helpful when I have RL problems. I don't see any problems with WoW if you can still function IRL.

im not trying to be mean or anything but i also had trouble socializing with my friends and i did turn to the computer for friends but then i realized my "friends" lived over 3000miles away and didnt care if i had a bad day and didnt like that i was always talking to them. so i got the courage to be more outgoing and school and i eventually deleted my myspace and now im happy with a boyfriend and friends. and i think you should do the same. its just sad, you DO have an opportunity to make friends with people who are just like you but youre stuck in another world that isnt real and doesnt exist. i dont think you wanna look back on you life and say "oh yeah my pal on Wow was great." he isnt really your pal. he may be a guy you talk to but do you really consider that a friend? just try finding people in your town or school or whatever that also likes wow and plays but also hangout with that person. do something with your life while youre still young! haha life goes by fast and i seriously dont think ANYONE wants to spend it in front of a computer screen, i know i sure wouldnt. thanks for your time reading this. im sorry if i hurt your feelings =[ but we both have different opinions and im only telling you my side. thanks for reading again.-Sam =]

I see too many mean posts which is not cool. I Had to I feel I played this game like 4 years now and have currently like 8.1k achv points and 2 accounts active which basicly says that I've been playing alot! Before wow I didn't had any friends or gf, was always lonely. I don't think reason was because of my looks or socializing. I always felt that people hated me for some reason hehe I dunno I never got inside group of friends who were all closely linked and I don't smoke or drink and all that stuff.

So wow was place where I could socialize with new people and have fun inside game. I don't think i'm one of those addicted types because I spend most of my time at work+I like to sk8 at summers. But when I have free weekends I could play wow for full 4 weeks 24/7. I really love this game and online gaming general. You don't have to worry irl things inside this game and really have genually fun.

Just remember to concentrate your job especially if it's something that needs build experience. According statics 90% of people are not happy with their current job, so yeah it needs discipline to go there do that same shit like always. But money and savings helps you in future with living, gaming etc.
